The Well[edit | edit source]

Master Argus appears in The Well as a merchant and sells Shovel Blade upgrades, selling two at a time. When initially encountered he appears as if he is a statue, but when attacked with a Shovel Slash he will block Shovel Knight and begin talking to him. He will also block Shovel Knight if he tries to Shovel Drop him, causing Shovel Knight to bounce off him. If present in an ambush room, during the ambush Master Argus cannot be talked to but will block all of Shovel Knight's attacks as normal.

Surface[edit | edit source]

Master Argus' tombstone appears on the Surface in the campsite and lists feats that that when completed unlock Shovel Blade upgrades that he can sell in The Well. His tombstone is initially not visible and is hidden below some flowers, but once these are dug up, his tombstone will appear above ground. His tombstone can be dug up from the very start of the game before heading into The Well. When his tombstone is initially dug up, his hand will also rise up from the ground and he will explain the purpose of the tombstone.

Upgrades sold[edit | edit source]

Master Argus' prices can vary, even within the same location, and like other items will get more expensive the farther in a run Shovel Knight gets. Shovel Blade upgrades can also be obtained from Tom Bola.

Alas, I have nothing else to teach you at this moment.
