Wizzems[1] are enemies in Shovel Knight Dig.

Appearance[edit | edit source]

All Wizzem variants have the same appearance but with different colours. Wizzems appear as humanoid characters who wear a pointed hat, a long sleeved collared buttoned up shirt, and boots.

Flameo Wizzems have green skin and wear a red hat and shirt with yellow buttons, while Blizzeo Wizzems have olive green skin and wear a blue hat and shirt with light blue buttons.

Game information[edit | edit source]

Wizzems are encountered in Magic Landfill and are stationary enemies that fire a projectile after a short period of time and are often found at the corners of rooms. They have 2 HP and when killed drop three yellow gems (30 gems). Wizzems will delay firing their projectile if they are damaged. Three types of Wizzems are encountered in the game:

  • Flameo Wizzems[1] shoot fireballs that bounce in short arcs. A single Flameo Wizzem can only shoot one fireball at a time.
    • Fireballs can bounce off walls, will dissipate after a short period of time, and inflict ½ HP of fire damage when they hit Shovel Knight. Fireballs hit by a Shovel Slash will be thrown backwards in an arc and can harm enemies, inflicting 2 HP of damage this way.
  • Blizzeo Wizzems[1] shoot snowflakes that move horizontally in a wavy motion. These projectiles freeze Shovel Knight in place and inflict ½ HP of Ice damage. When frozen, Shovel Knight can break free by pressing the attack button multiple times. They do not force the Brash Bracers armor into its broken state.
  • Gusteo Wizzems[1] shoot gusts of wind that travel slowly across all surfaces and inflict Wind damage. These gusts will dissipate if they travel around the room and make contact with the Gusteo Wizzem that shot them and will also dissipate when hit by Shovel Knight's Shovel Slash.
Spoiler
In the normal ending, when Shovel Knight and Shield Knight on the Rocket Drill pass through Magic Landfill, a Flare Wizzem will grab on to the drill and dangle around.
