Broken file links[edit source]
Many pages on the wiki will have broken file links due to the change in how embedding videos work. On Fandom, videos were on a File page, whereas wiki.gg uses an EmbedVideo extension. Some files may also be images that were broken or deleted.
Task: Go through the pages in the Category:Pages with broken file links category and resolve any files leading to red links. You may need to search for these using the Source editor.
Videos[edit source]
Files with no extension, e.g. [[File:Nitrome - Blast RPG Level 1|full|center]] on the Blast RPG page, are usually videos. Replace these with video embeds using {{video}}. You would need to find the video on YouTube - it does NOT need to be the exact same video as long as it is still relevant to the topic.
For example, for the Blast RPG level 1 walkthrough, I will use this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yd_i6O6JSVY. Instead of the File page, I will replace it with this:
{{vid|Yd_i6O6JSVY}}
which produces this:

Video galleries[edit source]
For multiple videos in a gallery, use Template:Video gallery.
Placeholders[edit source]
Placeholders typically appear in a format like: [[File:Placeholder|thumb|220px]]. They are usually found on userpages, as they are a leftover format from Fandom's default userpage layout. Userpages with placeholders may be edited for the sole purpose of removing the placeholder code.
Deleted images[edit source]
Some pages with broken file links may have actual images or other files on them that may have been deleted. On userpages and user talk pages, they are most likely personal images that were deleted but never cleaned up. Broken user images can be removed from userpages and talk pages - keep in mind that some images may come from templates in signatures.
Misc. cases[edit source]
There may be some cases where images that carried over to wiki.gg did not render properly, particularly if they have certain special characters in them. For any of these instances, please bring them up on The Nitrome Wiki Discord in the #wiki-forking channel or use the talk page.
Tabbers in infoboxes[edit source]
Many infoboxes use the <tabber></tabber> tags in the |image= parameter, which causes them to not display. Adjust any tabbers within infoboxes with gallery tags in a format like this:
<gallery> Hotairjr-bigfan.png|Resting Large_fan_spinning.png|Spinning </gallery>
Compare the broken version to the fixed.
Since these broken infoboxes use the tabber tag, you will find many of them in Category:Pages using Tabber parser tag. However, keep in mind that not all pages using the tabber tag need to be converted into galleries. If you see a userpage (example) or any other page that has tabbers working as intended, then please leave these alone. If the only tabber tags were in the infobox, they should be removed from the linked category once converted into galleries.
