Takeshi64, it's best to get out of the habit of manually adding categories that are already added by a template. And yes, I mean this act you pulled with Switches (Swindler). If you see a stub, adding {{stub}} to the page not only categorizes it automatically, but also creates a notice that lets users easily see that the page is a stub and encourages them to edit. This can be a lot more efficient than just tagging a page with "Stubs". And it's a lot easier to move a mass of pages this way (if we needed to) because it just requires one edit to the template instead of going through every single page and changing the category.

Haha, and that's an interesting way to archive pages. However, I don't think that can stay for very long once the new policy starts coming into effect.   Random-storykeeper 05:09, March 5, 2012 (UTC)

Don't worry, you won't have to change your image. I had a blue fire rune in my signature a couple of days ago, and I didn't remove it because of the new rule; rather, the rune was never uploaded to the wiki. To make a file link somewhere when clicked, type the following:

Oh and uh

I forgot to answer your previous question about Monobook or something like that. Well, that logo wouldn't fit in as a wordmark (only the banner would). You could keep it saved in your files if we run into another problem with a game not being released in time for a new logo to be created. The logo could potentially fit into the Monobook theme if it's all right to change the previous one.

Since you don't know what Monobook is, Monobook is a uh...supplement theme to compensate for the loss of Monaco, which was a different theme used until this look came along. You can see what this looks like by going to your Special:Preferences, visiting "Appearance" and selecting the skin to "Monobook". If you want to know more about the whole skin change thing I'm afraid I can't tell you too much, since I first visited the Wiki when it was still in Monaco, but didn't start to edit until the new look became Wiki-wide.   Random-storykeeper 19:04, March 5, 2012 (UTC)

Signatures

Sorry, but it isn't possible. Template:USERNAME is functioned by client side javascript, while all wikimarkup is processed by MediaWiki, which is powered by server-side PHP, therefore that gets processed first, which is not what we want. You can see that by looking at this link: [[Template:Signatures/<insert name here>]] and then the code: [[Template:Signatures/{{USERNAME}}]]. Coding

Fixed the purge issue. You need to use the same thing as on Template:Empty, which I already explained in chat. As for the gif of the guy shaking his fist, I think you could upload that to Nitrome Wiki and use it on the same page corresponding to the demolition guy (forgot the name). Distributable games

Looks pretty good. With the size of the games, I don't think centering will be a major issue. The only thing I wanted to make sure was that the game remains fixed in the template, as it sometimes loads outside the template at the top of the screen (but can be fixed once the show/hide link is clicked twice). Atom dissappeared a whole day,10/4/2012, for his future to be better! (Actually, It was my exams)

It was a bit tough. The only toughest parts (they weren't very tough, though) were the boss fights with Maxwell Merlock. I had a bit experience after playing Final Ninja so, it really wasn't so much as hard.

I told also to Atom that it doesn't work for the image in real size. Also, you could resize the image in nitrome Fanfiction Wiki and then get the code of the image. The Game Situation

Hello Takeshi64. Recently I noticed that you have placed some code on pages that makes the Template float on the bottom right of the screen. There are multiple reasons I reverted your edit, and below I will tell you.

• 1: It looks, and may be interpreted like an ad. For those unfamiliar with the Nitrome Wiki, this box appearing on the bottom right side of the screen looks like an ad. It is like an ad in that it appears as a box that floats with you as you move, says text, and can be opened, and opens to reveal a screen with a loading bar. The sudden appearance of this box at the bottom right of the screen, and the aformentioned reasons, along with also this being seen nowhere else on the wiki on mainspace pages (mainspace being the regular articles that are edited and make up the wiki), is one reason a floating box shouldn't be used.
• 2: Dificult to close. When I open the box, it opens so much that the [show] tag is pushed partially off the screen. Becuase of this, it may be dificult for some to close the box.
• 3: Space. The box takes up some Space, although not much if the box remains unopened. However, once opened, it takes up a large chunk of the screen. And since it stretches from the bottom of one side to the top when opened, and moves with you, the reader misses a rather large part of the article if they are unable to close the box, and is forced to refresh the page in the event this happens. It also prevents them from reading the walkthrough of the game when the box is opened, and since it may be dificult to close, it would be best not to have a floating box.
• 4: Unnecessary. There's nothing wrong with how the box is now, and I think it's okay and doesn't need to be changed.

I hope you understand why I removed your box, it's not becuase I somehow hate you and I like undoing things people I hate do, I don't hate you at all(in fact, I hate nobody here), and could be de-adminned for unfairly reverting edits. I hope you understand. I have had a lot of experience with doing things and having them delete.

I made a whole bunch of Calendar pages made, but they were deleted becuause they were deemed unnecessary. I made some genre pages, but they were also deleted. If you scroll way back in the Deletion Log, you will find most deleted stuff was by me.

Since box signatures are pretty much gone now, the three <br /> tags after your signature are obsolete. Since three line breaks mean a huge space, do you want to consider removing them? Help you with your .gifs

What I do to make transparent .gifs is I take multiple pictures of the action and then make them transparent and then take them to .gif making sites such as this one which you can find by just Googling ".gif maker". (That was a very long run-on scentence wasn't it?). It takes practice to make good ones, and I've actually been asking Frostyflytrap how to make ones like these:

I'm not Emitewiki2 but I can help you there. Open your image editor(GIMP or Photoshop will do), now go the layers menu(where you can make the layers visible or the opposite), now in every layer name type in : (replace) at the end of the layer's name(you need to put the parerthesis or it won't work) Then play the animation if you're using GIMP, go to Filters>Animation>Playback to watch the animation it should now look like this:

Hi Takeshi64! I see you've joined Project Revise 2. Those three articles you did, sadly, are unfinished. It clearly states in the project rules to add a Game Information and Appearance section. You didn't add a Game Information section to those articles, and also placed the Appearance section in the wrong place (Appearance goes after opening sentence).

However, don't feel sad about it, my sister has the same problem. So in a few words: Separate text into Appearance and Game Information, and add Template:Incomplete if you find one section is incomplete, or Template:Empty if one section has nothing in the clump of text for one section. Template:Empty is often used for the appearance section, as it is often empty. Template:Incomplete may also be used for the appearance or game information section if you find one of them is missing something.

So, to just solely add the template to a template category without causing pages in which the template is used from being added into the category, I should keep the category wikicode within noinclude tags.

The Cheese Dreams challenge

I don't blame you. That part is really hard to get down, but once you get it right, then the rest isn't so bad. I tried out the notes you suggested in chat, and it's possible that you may be right, but once again, I still can't determine what the notes are for whatever is descending. It really sounded like a chromatic scale. Oh well.

I don't know what you do, but whenever I'm learning to play a Nitrome track, I normally go for the melodies first, then add the chords afterwards. I'm still trying to get the first 27 seconds with both hands, which will take a while at the moment.

Advice? If all else fails, listen to the in-game soundtrack and try to play along with it. Oh, and as for that nifty goal idea I had a while ago, I'm thinking of turning it into a fan collaboration.   Random-storykeeper 05:26, May 13, 2012 (UTC)

XML? XML is a code file, not an image. You can open it in notepad but it won't be very helpful.

I honestly have no idea how you're getting XMLs. The program is supposed to save BMP images under the folder "shots" in the main program folder.

Okay, I got it. After you left chat, I took a break and decided to investigate the situation again. I copied the template from the sandbox onto the page of Square Meal and noticed that the music files were showing up there. So the problem had to do with the infobox itself. Later I found out that the special parameter was filled in for Knuckleheads. I took a closer look at the code and realized that you forgot one very important thing: closing the parser function with }}. We might have a problem

I was viewing the NitromeMusic facebook page and noticed that with the way you were suggesting we split the music files, you would get Final Ninja. But as soon as I logged in to Facebook, I realized that Final Ninja was on the left column now, which in that case I would be uploading it. Now I'm not so sure if this left-right column thing is a good idea, as it will also change when new posts are added to the Facebook page, which could result in us uploading duplicates or wasting valuable time and energy on nothing. Since it's only two of us so far, it would only make sense to have one of us start from Aquanaut and another start at Yin Yang (when it's released, which should be in a couple of weeks). Sorry for having to leave so many messages on your talk page; it just came to mind as I was re-uploading Square Meal's music. Fixed it

I see you're already aware of me setting up a table on my sandbox. I'll try finding all the soundtracks I can on SoundCloud, as Facebook pages seem easier to browse with an account. By the way, I noticed that the menu and main versions of Final Ninja on SoundCloud are exactly identical. Correct me if I'm wrong, but it seems as though "Extra 4" is the menu track.

Also, I figured out why the time was appearing in a pre box. The answer is quite simple: make sure there is no line break between where your signature ends (ie. the tag) and the <noinclude> tag.   Random-storykeeper 06:49, June 6, 2012 (UTC)

Do have a closer look, Takeshi. Under games, Nitrome places all games under 'All Games'. Nitrome no longer segregates Mini Games from Main Games. Now Snot Put also fits in the same category on page 4.

However, since it is still a single level games and we continue to distinguish Mini Games from Main Games here, so as long as the mini games fits our one level criterion, it should be classed as such.
