RE: sprintRPG enemy names [edit source]

This is the first time for me to leave a talk. I hope that I do nothing wrong XD
I came up with the names on my own, not completely. Actually there was not any reference in the entire game.
The only reference is the boss' name called "Bone King" mentioned in the infor page of the game in Google Play. As for other enemies, I have to name them according to their characteristics, like "Bats" cuz they look quite like bats and "Lizards" I'll add soon. Some enemies' names included determinable symbol "Bone" as my citation, according to "Bone King".
One more thing about "Grimoire or Bestiary", I got the name "Grimoire" on Ilija's personal website and there was a dev pic called "Bestiary". Finally I chose the former one.
If you guys think that it is inappropriate, it is okay to correct these names anytime with no need to notice me. I will keep them unless the official names are announced. https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/nitromefanfiction/images/d/df/Bajan.gif/revision/latest?cb=20200408135907 Talk to Bajan175lcrBasic bomb.png 12:45, March 27, 2020 (UTC)

Addition:[edit source]

Hey! I just found what you made in your sandbox. Well done but... I mean... Why didn't you just make an edit on page sprintRPG? https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/nitromefanfiction/images/d/df/Bajan.gif/revision/latest?cb=20200408135907 Talk to Bajan175lcrBasic bomb.png 02:39, March 28, 2020 (UTC)

As for the grimoire, it took me a bit to find the developer's website, but I'm thinking it may be best to stick to referring to it as the "bestiary" in the article since it's called that in the App Store description and bestiary is a commonly recognized term that exists in other video games and serves the same purpose. Grimoire is a cooler sounding name, but it only seems to be called that on the developer's website, which one has to go out of their way to find (also the dev's website still says the game is "coming soon" haha). I would agree to calling it "grimoire" in the article if the game itself called it that, or something like the App Store description, and maybe mention once that the developer called it the "grimoire".
The reason I put the table in my sandbox is because I was testing out the template I was using for the "action" column and it wasn't quite ready to be put on the page yet. But even now that it is ready, I saw that you've been regularly editing the sprintRPG article and didn't want to interrupt the information you were adding onto the page. XD  Talk Random-storykeeper Contributions 04:30, March 28, 2020 (UTC)
Well then. I've adopted "bestiary handbook" mentioned in Google Play instead of "grimoire".
As for the enemies, I'll adopt "Widebones", "Wall monsters" and "Thiefbones"(Bone thieves) from your sandbox. But it is truly hard for me to regard the creature in page 12 as a croc XD. Also, there seems to be two same words connected by a "dot" in the Baphomet's name. However, since I am not a native English speaker, I have no idea about that. If there is not a name more suitable, I think "Baphomet" is okay then. What's your opinion?
(Digression: How could I use my avatar in my signature? :D)

I've been trying to decipher the bestiary code myself, but I'm not sure if the characters in the code directly translate into English words, at least not letter for letter. I know there is consistency among the different groups of enemies (the same set of characters is used to describe all the skeletons), but I couldn't tell you what names they are given based off that book. If you do manage to, let me know; I'd love to know what the key is. 😂
I'm cool with calling them lizards instead of crocs. The names I came up with were mostly just placeholder, since I didn't have any other reference to go by except my own when creating the draft page, lol. As for the "Baphomet", I thought that the enemy resembled one of those goat demons, so I went with Baphomet since it's a name associated with a half goat, half human deity.
As for your signature, you want to use what's in your current avatar as your signature, right? I'm not really sure, to be honest. Typically, you would upload personal images onto an image hosting site like Imgur (I used Photobucket back in the days, haha) and then paste the URL directly into the wiki to embed it. But this has changed since then and now a lot of image hosting sites aren't automatically embedded. I think they need to be whitelisted, although I've forgotten which MediaWiki page exactly determines that. For the time being, you'd unfortunately have to use images that are already uploaded onto this wiki, otherwise I think embedding from another wiki still works (just not other image hosting sites in general).
On the subject of your signature, I can tell you copy and pasted from my signature, since you automatically inserted the category under my username for a bit whenever you signed. When signing posts, you don't want to substitute the entire signature, as it takes up a huge chunk of space and makes you add the Signatures category to every page you sign, which is something that shouldn't happen. I've created a template for your signature here, so check out Project:Signatures, particularly the "Finishing off a signature" part, as it will help you to sign with just the template code and not the entire signature code itself. To see what I mean, switch your editor to source mode for this section and compare my signature code to yours. XD  Talk Random-storykeeper Contributions 10:33, April 1, 2020 (UTC)
I see. I feel sorry for making such a mistake and thank you for creating a template for me! XD
As for the bestiary code, I think it could be regarded as a language as a feature of this game. But the truth is that there is not any exact text in the bestiary handbook whose pages are all images. It is funny to tell you that a Nitromian that I know found two parts of the code in page 6 of the bestiary, which were completely same.
I am about to end the edit in at most three days and prepare for the college entrance examination. Then you can correct the mistakes I have made and add new things I don't mention. Thanks again for your help! ;D https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/nitromefanfiction/images/d/df/Bajan.gif/revision/latest?cb=20200408135907 Talk to Bajan175lcrBasic bomb.png 12:49, April 1, 2020 (UTC)

Some little questions (maybe request)[edit source]

Ehhh... Hey! It's me again XD

I have finished the edit of Sprint RPG and I just posted a gif about "Blue breaking in Proto suit" after that. The problem is that I forget to rename it, so it remains "Blue.gif". Is that okay or it needs to be renamed?

Also, there is a graphic error of navbox templates which represent with nothing wrong in Nitrome中文维基, however. So I wonder if it is just my browser to blame or there is exactly an error.

Sorry for troubling you! Orz https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/nitromefanfiction/images/d/df/Bajan.gif/revision/latest?cb=20200408135907 Talk to Bajan175lcrBasic bomb.png 02:19, April 3, 2020 (UTC)

Hey there! Awesome work with the SprintRPG article. Once I have time, I'll review the article and make some revisions. I don't know if I mentioned this, but I was basing parts of the table in my sandbox off of the information you were putting on the article. :P As for the file name, I've renamed the file to what you intended to name it. Only admins can rename files, but I made a template that you can append to file pages to request a rename more efficiently.
As for the navbox template, I've been doing some behind the scenes changes that affect the navigation templates, which is why the current ones using Template:Navbox look odd. Basically, all our navigation templates use a code that has been deprecated for quite some time now. It's the code that is used to collapse and uncollapse the template. For a while, MediaWiki has implemented a collapsing feature and it is preferred that we update the template such that it uses the implemented feature over the deprecated one. The new navbox template uses CSS for styling, but it is essentially connected to the CSS the current navbox uses. That's why the old navboxes have an odd appearance but the ones on the Chinese Nitrome Wiki don't.
Soon, I'll be changing the code and will do my best to ensure that nothing breaks. But I'm a total amateur when it comes to coding, so it might take a while. I do think this change is overdue and necessary to updating this wiki behind the scenes.  Talk Random-storykeeper Contributions 09:11, April 3, 2020 (UTC)

About Music[edit source]

Yeah, I have understood that. But the high quality music I found was still the released track back in Amazon music:https://music.amazon.com.au/artists/B004195F38/nitrome---dave-cowen. Recently I found that their music can still be listened on Amazon Australia site! As to the problem that the last second of the music was truncated, I know that and i tries many times but i still cannot solve that. I get the track by using the Sidify Amazon Music Convertor. The only way to get the untruncated track is to directly recording it when it is playing. I tried it , but than i found that the recorded track was a bit weird and distorted. I think it's the problem of my device and currently i have no way to deal with it, but i will solve them in the future as best as i can do.

About music[edit source]

I' sorry. I did not see your message until I uploaded the duplicated file again..............I will try to found the original file and replace it.........

Ah I see! Yeah, someone on the Nitrome Ltd. Discord server also brought up the fact that their music was available on some Amazon Music sites. They mentioned Estonia, but it's nice that it's in Australia, too.
I just checked my old iTunes files (I purchased Nitrome music back when it was still available there) and it turns out that the Twin Shot menu theme was one of the tracks I had purchased but never uploaded for some reason. I'll replace the file with the iTunes version, which does have the last second, so you may not need to do anything further.
Also no worries on the accidental duplicate. I'll go ahead and take care of that. Thanks again for the uploads.  Talk Random-storykeeper Contributions 01:01, 2 November 2022 (UTC)

RE: Spam[edit source]

Hello Random-storykeeper. Thanks for making that change. When the spam kept happening I thought of disabling anonymous editing, but still wanted to keep it open just in case someone wanted to make genuine anonymous contribution, even though the large majority of these contributions have been gibberish vandalism. After the spam kept happening I did contact SOAP (previously VSTF) to apply a range block, and my inquiry was dealt with although I'm not sure whether anything was done. I was going to contact SOAP again if they posted more spam, but I think I'll keep anonymous editing off for some time. Thanks. Talk to NOBODY  Eskimo 1.png 21:32, 27 August 2023 (UTC)
