Bat Beasts are enemies found in the cave areas of the game Frost Bite 2.

Appearance

Bat Beasts have fur around their body. The head of the creature is exposed from the front, with fur only around the sides of it. Visible on its face is the creature's pink skin, mouth with teeth, and yellow eyes. On the sides of its face are its wings, which are completely covered in fur. On top of its head is a magenta horn.

Bat Beasts are only found inhabiting caves, often times moving in a pattern. They are found moving in a circle, horizontal or vertical pattern, but are often found moving vertical. Because of the horn on its head, it cannot be jumped on to be killed. They are easily killed by being shot with the grappling hook, which can be used to repeatedly kill the ones moving in the pattern. During the boss fight with the giant ape, the giant ape will roar these bats out of his mouth. Eight of them move around the ape, protecting him from being harmed by the Eskimo.

To harm the ape, the player has to kill a few bats to make an opening between the moving circle, then they have to climb up Mesh and land on the ape's head, this having to be done with timing. Every time the player injures the ape, he will send the Bat Beasts away, and roar out eight more, this time moving faster. If the player kills to much of the bats, they will be roared out early and replaced with eight new ones.
