The hearting system, or hearted games, is a feature Nitrome added to their site on August 26, 2011 with the release of their 2.0 website. It allows players to "heart" games that they really like. The purpose of hearting games is to let Nitromians pick which games they think are their favorites.

Hearting[edit | edit source]

A player can Heart a game by clicking the little heart symbol at the top-right corner of the game on the games page. Once clicked, the game would be hearted, and one heart would be added to the game's count. Also, the small heart symbol would be filled in pink. If the game was a Touchy game, there would also be a "fullscreen" button next to the heart button.

Hearted page[edit | edit source]

The updated hearted page

Located on the games page is a "hearted" category. In Nitrome 2.0 it was the fourth of five categories, but in Nitrome 2.1 it was the third of five categories. Also, on 2.0 the player could not scroll down, but in an update the pages were made longer and the player would have to scroll down.

On the hearted page are all the Nitrome games in order from the games with the most hearts to the ones with the least. This is from games voted world-wide. On the first week of the release, the hearted page was not working, and would not count the hearted games. Nitrome noted this, and it was later fixed.

Nitrome accounts integration[edit | edit source]

The button

If a player also had a Nitrome account, then he/she would be able to see all of the games he/she hearted by clicking on the "Your hearted games" button at the top right corner of the website.
