Throughout the last few months, beta content has found its way onto Nitrome Wiki's mainspace. These were later split into their own pages (Talk:Colour Blind), which allows the page to be more focused on a certain aspect of the game's development. This is where the issue lies.

Beta content can be captured in the form of videos and pictures, but can it be verified? A picture taken and uploaded on the wiki is not a form of a reliable source; the destination filename for the picture comes from the wiki itself. The same for videos, in a sense.

What about the links we currently have as a source? The tweets and forum posts from Nitrome prove that Nitrome was, at the time, recruiting beta testers, but it doesn't show the actual beta content. Such content is in fact so trivial it may not have a place in the mainspace. At least, not without a source. If the beta content was meant to be privately released for a few people, why would Nitrome allow this to be put onto our own articles?

That being said, such content might be interesting to share off the mainspace, such as on a user page, or blog post. If it's on an article, though, it needs to be verifiable such that a source can confirm Nitrome released it, and is thus okay with sharing the actual content. We need a source that can verify the actual beta content that does not involve ruling out all the possibilities why it's not real. That doesn't prove its verifiability. If there is no source that can show this, then the beta content becomes unverifiable, and should be taken off the mainspace as soon as possible.  Talk Random-storykeeper Contributions 21:21, June 17, 2013 (UTC)

Would it be okay to email Nitrome about whether they want beta content to go up? Or should someone leave a Facebook comment? I can email Nitrome about the beta content thing. Also, is this discussing just beta demo content, or content found in the game's code and content found from other sources (such as Simon Hunter's website page)? --Talk to NOBODY  Eskimo 1.png 21:40, June 17, 2013 (UTC)
Beta content found on a Nitrome staff member's site should be all right, as long as it can be confirmed the beta content is Nitrome's. I think we should focus more on finding a current source, and if that cannot be found, then we should move the beta content off the mainspace. Try not to get Nitrome involved with the wiki's issues if we can help it.  Talk Random-storykeeper Contributions 21:46, June 17, 2013 (UTC)
"why would Nitrome allow this to be put onto our own articles?" Isn't this implying that Nitrome may not want us to place this content on the page? --Talk to NOBODY  Eskimo 1.png 22:05, June 17, 2013 (UTC)
I mean the actual beta content, not only the mentioning of the search for beta testers.  Talk Random-storykeeper Contributions 22:06, June 17, 2013 (UTC)
