The unannounced mobile game is a mobile game that is currently in development. Unlike Gunbrick before it was announced, the unannounced mobile game has had very little exposure.

Development[edit | edit source]

Development of the unannounced mobile game began in late January 2013 after Nitrome accepted Rovio's offer to publish Icebreaker A Viking Voyage[2][3][4]. Rovio's involvement with the game caused the need for more people working on it, so those who were working on Gunbrick were relocated over to Icebreaker, while at the same time a separate team was put to work developing the unannounced mobile game.[5]

Development on the game continued during Icebreaker A Viking Voyage's development and after it[5], though despite its progress Nitrome did not reveal any game specific information about the game due to the tendency for fans to become upset over the long long gap between a mobile game's announcement and its release date.[5] The game was being worked on in June 2013. [6]

Near the very end of December 2013 Nitrome shared in a Nitrome blog post how the unannounced mobile game was progressing well and their plans to start a marketing campaign and reveal it when they felt comfortable doing so and when the game was almost finished.[5] In January 2014 the game was mentioned again, Nitrome also adding that it would be revealed when they had planned out all the game's previews leading up to its release[7].

The game continued to progress well in the new year[1] (2014), and as of May 2014 was in a very advanced state[8]. Despite this progress, the game was put on hold, though in January 2015 Nitrome said that it would make sense to return to the project. [9]
