Glass[edit | edit source]

This section is about Glass from Sandman. For Glass from other games, please see Glass (Disambiguation).

Glass appears transparent in affixed rectangular areas with a facet in each corner and unable to be moved. Glass prevents the player from pouring sand if their cursor is on the glass, but sand can be poured behind it by pouring sand above the glass. If sand is attempted to be poured while the cursor is on glass, a "tapping" sound is heard. Glass does not harm sleepwalkers or nightmares, as they walk behind it. Glass only appears in stages 3 and 9.

Invisible blocks[edit | edit source]

Invisible blocks appear as blocks that for most of the time, are completely invisible to the player. They can only be seen for a brief second when light glints across them each second. Sleepwalkers pass through invisible blocks, but sand can be poured on the blocks. Sleepwalkers can only walk on an invisible block if sand is poured on it.

Wooden water wheel and beams[edit | edit source]

The wooden water wheel appears as two triangular pieces of wood, each base attached to a wall, while the tops of the triangle are attached to each other. In the area where the tops meet is where a screen is fastened. Behind the area where the screw pokes out is where the waterwheel is, and where the screw is attached to.

Wooden water wheels can be turned by pouring sand on them. The water wheels always appear alongside a wooden beam in a level, and turning the wheel will move the beam. Beams can be encountered floating either vertically or horizontally. Turning the wheel clockwise will result in the connected beam moving to the right or up, and turning the wheel counter-clockwise will move the beam back to the left or down.

In stage 13, there is one long and one short, indented wooden beam that move back and forth on their own without any water wheel.
